Local to Pickering
Pickering homes, from Bay Ridges to Seaton.
Pickering ranges from the older homes near Frenchman’s Bay and Bay Ridges to established neighbourhoods like Amberlea and Liverpool, and new construction in Duffin Heights and Seaton. That means everything from first-time kitchen updates in older homes to finishing basements in brand-new builds.
Pickering has made it easier than most places to add rental units. The City allows up to two additional dwelling units on most residential properties, inside the house, in a backyard building, or one of each, which makes a basement suite worth a serious look.
Whatever you’re planning, we start with a free site visit, a design and a written, itemized price, so you know exactly what you’re paying for before anything starts.

Permits and local rules
Building permits and ADUs in Pickering.
The City of Pickering allows up to two additional dwelling units on most properties with a detached, semi-detached or townhouse home: one or two inside the main house, one in a backyard or side-yard building, or one in each.
A building permit is required for every ADU, even when you use one of the five pre-approved backyard unit designs the City and the Town of Whitby offer. Every home with an ADU must also be registered under By-law 8040/23 after final inspection by Pickering Fire and Building Services.
The City also notes that building permit fees increase for applications submitted after June 30, 2026. We’ll confirm the current fees for your project.

I did legal basement project with them. They are professional, know what they are doing and how things work. They do work timely, and are flexible to your schedules. Don’t compromise on quality and are patient to go through rounds of inspections with add on things to do and fix each time. I highly recommend them and wish all the best for their future projects. Keep these work ethics alive.
SamirLegal basement · Google review★★★★★The Ramsauer team did a fabulous job on building a new deck in my backyard along with a matching garden planter. Cameron’s workmanship was impeccable. His creative skills and building talent combined with his easygoing personality and attention to detail were unmatched. He completely met my vision and did it with seemingly little effort. Cameron is a natural builder whom I would definitely hire again. Thank you to Jim, Cameron and the Ramsauer team.
Alison Abou-Heif OvenellDeck · Google review★★★★★Ramsauer Reno renovated my basement with top notch professional service. We received great quality service and communication quickly and they were easy to work with. Jim and his team were always willing to answer my questions or make a recommendation even after the work was completed. Every aspect of the project was done professionally with great products and great service. They were neat and clean. I have no hesitation in recommending Ramsauer Reno to anyone thinking of renovating their basement or home renovation. We will definitely be using Ramsauer Reno for our next home improvement project!
Nis MathiBasement · Google review★★★★★The Ramsauer team assisted with the design, gut, expansion and rebuild of our primary washroom, modifying it to a four piece with a custom shower. The work was very precise and we are extremely pleased. Pricing fell in the upper third of normal charges for the work performed, even with unexpected mitigation’s that added to the time and costs of the project. Customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend this business.
