The Town of Ajax groups permits by the size of the work. Decks and porches fall under minor construction. Second units (additional dwelling units), below-grade entrances and renovations or additions to existing buildings fall under moderate construction, and the Town publishes separate guides for second units under the Ontario Building Code and the Ontario Fire Code.
Residential applications are submitted through the Town’s Online Application Portal (OAP) at eapply.ajax.ca. We prepare the drawings and handle the application for you.
